This will later help join the curb to the floor. Press the fabric into place with the trowel on both the pan and the wall. Put the thinset on the floor and wall focusing on the inside edge. Use a broom or a vacuum to clear loose debris.

Prepare the area for installation. Place cardboard or another material into the shower pan base to protect its surface. Press the shower pan base into the mortar adjusting it until the entire base is level. Use a wide blade putty knife or a paint scraping tool to peel off old caulking and adhesive.

You need to notch the corners for a two inch overlap. Lay down cardboard to protect the fabric as you do the wall to floor connections. Check local building codes for the correct concrete depth and the required size and thickness for the rubber membrane. If needed use 2x4 lumber to frame in the box that will serve as the form for the concrete pour.

Chisel away any flooring that would be under the pan before attaching the drain hole s strainer. Vacuum the subfloor and check the level. Place the shower pan onto the mortar making sure the pre drilled holes on its rim line up with the wall studs. Drill screws into the bare floor between the inner and outer curb edges every foot or so and at every joint.

Mixing pouring the pan. Mix the mud according to manufacturer instructions. Use fabric strips to build the shower pan waterproofing. Pour it into the curb frame until the mud reaches the top of the wood frame making the top as level as you can.
